T. Kuschel investigates thin films and nanostructures with a focus on depth resolved properties as well as spin and orbital transport behaviours. Here, synchrotron-based x-ray resonant magnetic reflectivity (XRMR) and x-ray ferromagnetic resonance (XFMR) as well as lab-based x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) are employed. Studied materials are ferrimagnetic 3d metal oxides, Heusler compounds, antiferro- and altermagnets. Typical preparation techniques are molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), magnetron sputtering and pulsed laser deposition (PLD). In addition, magneto-optic effects of higher-order in magnetization are investigated.
